Snorkelling

Diving maybe not for everyone but snorkelling is a perfect option for people of all ages and physical abilities to get interested in what goes on below the surface of the water. Phi Phi is offering possibly the best snorkelling in Thailand, with its fantastic coral reefs. You can enjoy cave snorkelling on Phi Phi Leh or going on sharks watch at Long Beach. All tour operators on the island are able to arrange you full-day or half-day snorkelling trips. They also supply you all needed equipments.

Maya Bay is outstanding snorkelling spot where has crystal clear water. You may see octopus easily after 10 minutes snorkelling and of course stunning coral and variety of fishes are waiting for you to see. After Maya Bay, better heading to Monkey Bay (Ao Ling) or Loh Mudee Beach.

The Long Beach is not a far snorkelling destination and it is one of the excellent spot where you definitely can not miss. There is a rock that just breaks the surface and we call it "shark point". You can easily find black tip reef sharks, size from 40 cm to 1.2 m. The morning time before 9 am or after 5 pm with few of boats and less of crowd would be a perfect time to see sharks.

Hin Klang is considered as one of the best snorkelling spot. Located 2 km offshore in the north of Phi Phi. Hin Klang has glassy water, lots of fish and colourful coral reefs. Hin Klang is probably rated as the best place in Phi Phi to see fantastic coral reefs.

Pi Leh Bay is another fun snorkelling spot on the opposite side of Phi Phi Leh on the way to Maya Bay. Pi Leh Bay is a long thin bay surrounded by high cliffs. As the bay is too shallow so it is limited for ferry accessibility but longtail and speed boat and this make the bay not too busy. Best visiting time is when it is high tide and don't forget to preparing some bread for parrot fish.

You may take kayak to West side of Tonsai Bay to see lots of fish all along the bay. There are many more snorkelling spots for you to visit and definitely guarantee that they are all fantastic. Don't miss!
